U12b's Rattle the Favourites
U12b's Corbally Utd 3 v Shannon Hibs 5
Shannon Hibs went into this game as red hot favourites having a 100% record in the league, however Corbally rocked them with the opening goal mid way through the first half. The impressive Geoffrey Johnson picked up the ball on the half way line, he then raced along the touchline , he held off his marker and cut inside, continued to the edge of the box an rifled an unstoppable shot to the roof of the net. The Corbally defence were slow to close down the visitors who equalised with a fine strike.
Corbally were playing most of the football in Hibs half and went ahead again when Cian Moore played the ball to Adam Guerin who bought himself some space with a neat turn before lofting an excellent shot to the back of the net from outside the box.
Corbally were well in control at the start of the second half and had a number of opportunities to extend their lead but were unable to do so. With less than 15 minutes to go Hibs drew level, and with their next three attacks added further goals. Corbally never gave up and when Adam Guerin delivered an excellent free kick Jack McCormick finished superbly from 12 yards.
